Vladimir Guerrero had the most hits for the Angels (3), followed by Torii Hunter (2). The Angels got 3 runs, 8 hits and one error.
Umpiring duties were performed by Derryl Cousins, Jim Joyce, Greg Gibson and Bill Miller. There were 44,701 Yankees ticket holders in attendance at New Yankee Stadium.
The win puts the Yankees at a record of 93-52, still leading their division, while the loss brings the Angels to 86-57, at the top of their division.
